Anima Libera (meaning free spirit), is a new personal project from Oenologist Emiliano Falsini. The many years of consulting for numerous Italian wineries exposed him to many enchanting sites, which led to his desire to produce limited quantities of wines that expressed the land. He wanted to transmit the passion for his profession, producing different wines from Italian indigenous grapes that would represent some of the most fantastic and spectacular regions of Italy. The wines are crafted in accordance to the laws of respect, elegance and pleasure – a modern symbol of what Italy today represents in the oenological field.
Passionate, professional and personable – this is the expression that exudes from Emiliano when one meets him for the very first time. Highly accomplished and respected in Italy and abroad, he is currently a consulting oenologist working with Italian wineries that have received critical acclaim with wine journalists worldwide. Some may be familiar with wineries such as Moris Farms, Girolamo Russo, Casa di Terra, Giacomo Mori just to name a few.
Born in Empoli nearby Florence, Emiliano earned his Doctorate of Agronomy from the University of Florence. He continued his post doctorate studies at University of Bordeaux with emphasis on production techniques and sensory analysis of wines. As part of his global experience he has worked as an assistant winemaker at Robert Mondavi in Napa Valley, Villa Maria in New Zealand and various wineries in Argentina. Since 2000 he has been a consulting oenologist with Alberto Antonini’s association – Matura Group, providing services to various Italian wineries. Aside from oenological duties, he is a member of the DOC & DOCG at the Camere di Commercio of Florence, Prato and Siena. Emiliano is also a wine judge at various wine competitions such as International Wine & Spirits in the UK, Michangelo Intl Wine in South Africa, and Finger Lakes International Wine in USA to name a few. All these global experiences along with his winery consultations to others contributes to his passion and interpretation of Anima Libera wines made from autochthonous varieties. http://www.animaliberavini.it/anima/?lang=en
